In my last Qatar TESOL PD presentation at Qatar University last week, I introduced mobile learning research initiatives in different parts of the world. I draw attention to the fact that several small and large scales initiatives have already taken place in different countries and regions including the middle east in an attempt to reach autonomy in this new field in education. Several interesting teaching practices and ideas have been shared based on previous research or ideas shared by other educators. Over a 100 teachers from all over Qatar attended the event including representatives of local media. It would be great to hear from other educators involved in mlearning in the country.
